The Gingerbread Village series consists of
11 designs that will be released consecutively
for 11 months. The first design, Gingerbread
Train, is larger than the rest (stitch count of
110w x 60h). The remaining 10 designs are all
the same size (stitch count 55w x 60h). If the
entire design is stitched together it has a
total stitch count of 220w x 184h.
The fabric used for the models is Wichelt’s
32 count Lambswool Linen. The designs also use
the same threads throughout. If all of the
designs are stitched, a total of these many
skeins of floss will be needed: Classic
Colorworks’ Bean Sprout (2) and Ribbon Red (2);
Weeks’ Hazelnut (3) and Pecan (5); and DMC
White (4), 3371 (1), 469 (1), and 741 (1).
There is an optional JABCO button used in
each design. Using the button though is
completely optional, and so it is not included
with the pattern. If you like the button you
can purchase it here separately. If not, then
just stitch the chart as directed without the
button. Keep in mind that the buttons were
chosen to fit with the 32ct fabric, so if you
choose a different fabric count they may not
fit the design as well.
The Gingerbread Village series will look
adorable finished separately as cubes, stand up
flat folds, ornaments, etc. If you choose to
stitch the entire series together as shown, the
first design in the center will be Gingerbread
Train. Then they will be moving a block over to
the left for the next piece, and then
continuing clockwise around the entire piece.
You can look at the entire design image for
reference. The blocks that are next to each
other horizontally are stitched right next to
each other with no spaces in between. There are
two stitches in between the rows vertically.
