Hints for Successful Shopping

We strive to make our web site the easiest to shop by using common sense and logical organization. We want you to have the best possible online experience!

We place orders weekly with some of our distributors: Yarn Tree, Hoffman, Mill Hill, and Wichelt Imports. If you see something you would like from these companies, we would be happy to order it for you. Please place your request on the comments section of the online order form or e-mail us. Special requests received by Tuesday at 12 PM Eastern Time will be added to our usual order for the week. Please note that special orders require prepayment by credit card.

Here are a few hints on how to find the items you need:

1. Use the links on the left to select categories. Then you use the links that come up to select the subcategories.

2. Enter a keyword in the search box to find the item. Try a single word first. If you get too many responses, try two words. For example, if you are looking for baby bibs, try bibs or baby. If there are too many responses, try baby bibs.

3. When searching, try a general keyword first. If there are too many responses, try a more specific one. For example, if you are looking for Christmas stocking designs, try Christmas first. If there are too many choices, try Christmas stockings.

4. If you are looking for a particular design, try a search for the title or designer name or design company name. If you are looking for a particular subject such as Christmas designs, do a search for Christmas.

5. If you would like to browse all the designs by a certain designer, select CHART PACKS, BOOKS, AND LEAFLETS link, and then select the designer name link. Designs are organized by designer company name, such as Lavender & Lace, Jeanette Crews Designs, Just CrossStitch, etc.

6. If you are looking for a particular fabric, select the FABRICS link (on the left) and then select the particular fabric subcategory. Fabrics are organized by count, then by manufacturer, and then type, such as 14-count Charles Craft Aida.

7. To find all the towels made by Charles Craft, select PREFINISHED ITEMS and then CHARLES CRAFT TOWELS. Prefinished items are organized by manufacturer's name and then type of item, such as Charles Craft Towels.

8. Kits are placed in their own category called KITS. They are organized by designer company name/manufacturer name. All kits sold here are provided by the designer or manufacturer.

9. When ordering many different DMC flosses, use the back button on your browser to return you to the main list of all DMC flosses. This will also work for Anchor threads, Caron threads, Rainbow Gallery threads, etc. THE BACK BUTTON IS YOUR FRIEND!

10. The NECESSITIES category is almost a miscellaneous category. If you can't find the item in another section, try here.

11. When ordering more than one of an item, go to your shopping cart and enter the quantity needed. Then press recalculate to register the quantity change.
